New Church home

Raising Leaders, Transforming The World

At RCCG City of David Cambridge, we believe in the power of community. For over 15 years, our church has been more than a place of worship; it’s been a place where lives are touched, needs are met, and hope is restored.

Over the years, we have made significant contributions to our community, supporting and empowering individuals and families in meaningful ways. These include:

  • Providing Support to Those in Need: Through our food bank, we help individuals and families facing financial challenges by providing access to essential food supplies.
  • Empowering the Next Generation: We run IT and tech training programs for teenagers, equipping them with skills for the future and connecting them to work placements.
  • Celebrating Diversity: Our cultural and community activities bring people together, fostering understanding, inclusion, and joy.
  • Creating a Safe Space for All: We offer support, encouragement, and a sense of belonging to everyone who walks through our doors.
  • Hosting the Annual Cambridge Light Festival: Every summer, we organize this community festival to bring people together and raise funds for vital charities such as Mind and East Anglian Children’s Hospices.

Let's make it happen

But now, we face a challenge that could affect all we do. Due to development plans, we must vacate our current rented space.

While this is a hurdle, it’s also an opportunity—an opportunity to establish a permanent home where we can expand our services and secure our ability to serve for generations to come.

We’ve identified a property that fits our vision. However, making it a reality comes with costs: the purchase price, legal fees, planning applications, and the renovations needed to create a space that meets the community’s needs.

The church members have already been contributing significantly toward this dream and continue to do so. However, we can’t do it alone.

We’re inviting you to be part of this vision. We need your help to raise £200,000.

Your support will help us:

  • Secure a permanent home, reducing the uncertainty of moving.
  • Expand our food bank services to support more individuals and families.
  • Enhance our IT and training programs, empowering even more young people.
  • Create an inclusive community space, where everyone feels welcome and valued.
  • This isn’t just about a building. It’s about creating a foundation for hope, support, and transformation. In addition to continuing our current programs, having a permanent space will open up opportunities for future initiatives, such as:
  • Enhancing our food bank program to include a distribution and collection point, as well as issuing food bank vouchers.
  • Launching a Christians Against Poverty (CAP) recovery course and debt centre to support individuals in financial difficulty.
  • Hosting a soup kitchen to provide hot meals for those in need.
  • Offering coffee mornings for the elderly, creating a space for connection and companionship.
  • Organizing cultural and wellbeing workshops to promote creativity, diversity, and mental health awareness.
  • Providing space for kids, youth, and young adult groups to gather and grow.
  • Supporting community group meetings for local causes and initiatives.
  • Facilitating adult learning and skills training to empower community members with new opportunities.
  • Creating a rehearsal space for church-related or community-based activities, such as choir practices, small performances, or faith-inspired events.
